Three killed, 4 injured over a land dispute

ISLAMABAD: Three people were killed and four injured after two groups clashed with firearms in Sector E-17 on Thursday morning. Some officials of a housing society had tried to take possession of a piece of land in Sector E-17, claiming that they had purchased it.

However, local residents of foiled their attempt to occupy the land. An scuffle between ensued which soon escalated into fullyfledged firing, which continued for quite some time. During the firing, three men lost their lives and four others were injured. Asad, Musa, Imran and Waseem were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, where they are being treated for their injuries.

Two members of the housing society Deedar and Shahid Razzaq lost their lives. A local man, Sher Khan, also lost his life in the incident. The police have handed over the bodies of the deceased to their relatives. Although the police have initiated an investigation to ascertain who initiated the armed clash, they are yet to register an FIR. “We will only register an FIR after we know full details of the incident,” a police official told The Express Tribune.
