Health-conscious: SU VC bans smoking, gutka  

SU’s spokesperson said that pamphlets about the ban have been posted at the VC’s secretariat

HYDERABAD: In a first, the newly appointed vice-chancellor of Sindh University (SU) has announced a ban on the sale and consumption of cigarettes, mainpuri and gutka in the university. Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat, who assumed charge on Thursday, verbally declared the ban on Friday. SU’s spokesperson said that pamphlets about the ban have been posted at the VC’s secretariat but a notification has not been issued.
