KARACHI:
Students of Allama Iqbal College and Baldia School No. 9 won the Hamara Kamari Festival debate competition on Monday. Seven colleges and 15 schools of Shah Faisal Town participated in the competition that was held at the Allama Iqbal College auditorium.
The topics were ‘Reasons for a Revolution’ and ‘The Role of Political Leaders in Pakistan’. Contestants criticised politicians, especially for rampant corruption. They discussed past and present revolutions in detail, especially the recent uprisings in Arab states.
Students conveyed their determination for a revolution and stressed that young people prepare for a new era and a new world order. They also spoke how to bring about a revolution without colossal human loss.
Sindh Muslim Arts and Commerce College’s Prof Yousuf Zafar Rahmani and CDGK education department supervisors Fareeda Hassan and Tehseen Bano judged the contest.
