LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has directed the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) to pay a sum of Rs22 million as rent to the Miani Sahib graveyard committee within two days for using its land since 1986. On Tuesday, Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi also summoned the Punjab Mass Transit Authority director-general on January 6 to explain the delay in payment against the acquisition of the graveyard’s land for Lahore Metro Bus Service. The judge also sought the deputy commissioner’s report on alleged allotment of land for the shrine of philosopher Wasif Ali Wasif.
