Petty squabble: SIU team arrests wife-killer

Islamabad. A Special Investigation Unit (SIU) team has arrested Muhammad Hafeez, who was on the run after allegedly killing his wife.

On October 24, 2016,  the suspect, a resident  of Ashraf Town, Pindorian quarrelled with his wife  Irum Bibi  over a domestic issue.

Consequently, Hafeez beat her before attacking her with an axe. She sustained serious injuries and eventually died.

Hafeez fled the scene and went into hiding along the outskirts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

An SIU team located and arrested him from Ojri Khurd Darbar near Faizabad after getting a tipoff.

Further investigation is under way.

Senior officers appreciated efforts of the SIU team.
