KARACHI: Acting Sindh IG Mushtaq Mahar ordered strict security measures for the celebrations of Christmas and Quaid-i-Azam Day on December 25. According to a press release issued by the Central Police Office, Mahar has directed that special arrangements must be made at Mazar-e-Quaid, as citizens along with government officials are expected to visit the mausoleum of the father of the nation to pay tribute to him. It has been decided to deploy police commandos inside the premises of the mausoleum and at the main entrance. Clearance will also be taken from the bomb disposal squad for added security. On the other hand, it has also been decided to take strict security majors in the surrounding areas of all the churches, missionary schools and Christian community settlements in the city. The IG has also asked local SHOs and police stations to remain in contact with people organising any events related to Christmas and increase snap-checking, particularly in these areas.
