Nawaz given warm welcome on his arrival

SARAJEVO: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was accorded a warm welcome by Bosnian Minister of Transport and Communication Ismir Jusko who received the premier and his delegation at the Sarajevo International Airport.

The premier, who is on a three-day official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, was presented a salute by a contingent of static guards.

Nawaz is accompanied by Begum Kalsoom Nawaz and his Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi.

During his stay, Nawaz will meet members of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s presidency, leaders and members of the lower and upper houses of Parliament and also the Reisul Ulema Husein ef Kavazovic.

The prime minister will also address the country’s business forum and meet members of the Foreign Trade Chamber and Foreign Investment Promotion Agency. Both countries will review the entire range of bilateral relations with a special focus on politics, trade and economic ties, inter-parliamentary linkages and enhancing cultural and educational relations.

Nawaz will also exchange views with Bosnian leadership on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Bosnia and Pakistan share common values. Besides there is also a wide scope of cooperation between the two countries in other fields such as trade, economy, culture and sports.

Pakistan stresses on translating the excellent relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina into a strong economic partnership.

It wants an economic initiative that is necessary for enhancement of trade and business relations between the two countries and stresses the need for greater contacts at the government level as well as people-to-people exchange.
