Register 264-run unbeaten opening stand against WAPDA to give side strong footing in final

HBL’s Fakhar Zaman and Imamul Haq caused nothing but trouble for WAPDA bowlers as they stood their ground the whole day to score unbeaten centuries on the third day of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final at the National Stadium in Karachi on Tuesday.

Zaman smashed 19 boundaries in his 216-ball stay to make 157, while Imam hit 10 in his 224-ball 105-run knock to take HBL to 264 at stumps, leading by 222 runs with 10 wickets remaining.

Earlier, WAPDA had resumed the day 244-5 and managed to add just 34 more runs to their overnight tally to take the team’s total to 278.

Salman Butt was the top-scorer for his side with his scintillating 125-run knock while Adnan Raees (50) and Kamran Akmal (35) contributed with significant knocks.

Abdur Rehman was the pick of the bowlers for HBL claiming three wickets for 66 runs, while Fahim Ashraf took two wickets for 58 runs.
