SUKKUR: The Ghotki police rescued three kidnapped men after a fight near Qadirpur Tuesday morning.

Hostages Mujeeb Kalwar, Afzal Kalwar and Abdul Wahab Kalwar were going on their motorcycle to irrigate land, located five kilometres away from Khamiso Bharo village, where they went missing around 8 pm Monday. Their relatives only found the abandoned motorcycle.

The police followed footprints to the hideout, where they found the hostages. After an exchange of fire, the kidnappers escaped but left the hostages behind.

A family member of the hostages told The Express Tribune that they alerted the police immediately when they realised that the three men had gone missing.

Shopkeeper kidnapped

A shopkeeper was kidnapped near Thull on Monday night. Two brothers, Zahoor and Manzoor Khoso, were coming back to their village, Abdul Ghani Khoso, on a motorcycle after closing their shop in Bahoo Khoso town. When they reached the outskirts, a group of bandits kidnapped them.

After covering some distance, the kidnappers released Zahoor and took away Manzoor along with the motorcycle.

Zahoor informed the police and they went after the kidnappers but returned without any success. The police have yet to register the case.
