Says MES key to tracking implementation, output, effectiveness

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry Thursday directed all concerned officials to improve coordination and to implement decisions taken in letter and spirit in order to further improve institutionalising the support and supervision at different levels of management in the accountability body.

Chaudhry issued these directions while chairing a meeting to review progress on NAB’s Monitoring and Evaluation System (MES), which was introduced in NAB headquarters and NAB regional bureaus, in order to measure the effectiveness of performance.

During the meeting, advisor to chairman on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) gave a presentation on the progress on the MES in NAB and its efficacy. He said that MES maintains data at each stage of the investigation including complaint entry, complaint verification, inquiry, investigation, prosecution stage and record proceedings of regional board meetings and executive board meetings including case brief, decisions made. It also has the ability to analyse data in qualitative and quantitative terms having warnings and alarms system for violators.

Terming the system an important management tool to track progress and facilitate in decision making, Chaudhry directed all concerned officials to further coordinate and that decisions taken should be implemented in letter and spirit.
