PSP to host mass gathering on Dec 23

Leaders to announce party's future plans at the event

KARACHI: The Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) will host a mass gathering at Paka Qila in Hyderabad on December 23, announced the party's chairperson on Monday.

The gathering will attract people from throughout the province, said Mustafa Kamal.

He also appealed to non-Urdu speakers to also participate in the gathering. "This would be a historical event and we welcome everyone in our party," he said.

"We have to go a long way ahead of us and we will give a road map to all the people as to how the [PSP] is going to perform in the future. We will present our case in front of the people and reveal a concrete plan," he said, while addressing a press conference at Pakistan House on Monday.

The people have been suffering and we have been chosen to give them solace, he remarked. Giving an example, he said in Pakistan about 400 in 1,000 women die during pregnancy due to inadequate healthcare facilities.

"We have been eroding from inside as never before. We will collapse if we don't address the [people's suffering]," he claimed.

According to him, "We are in a position to start a movement. We need to thank the people of Hyderabad for participating in workers' convention held in the city on November 25".

Criticising MQM

While addressing his first press conference after almost a month, Kamal again took Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain to task and said he wants the blood of his people. The divide between MQM-Pakistan and MQM-London is a big drama, he claimed. They are all part of the problem and not the solution, said Kamal.

He further referred to Altaf as a monster who the MQM-Pakistan is still feeding with blood.

Appeal for funds

The PSP chairperson appealed philanthropists, supporters and followers to donate money to the party. Giving a detailed account, he claimed that party leaders had no idea that PSP would expand at such an exceptional pace and requested its international chapters to donate money.

Kamal said that they will not accept cash like the MQM does, adding that those who want to help the party should deposit money into their bank accounts. He referred to the party as part of the middle class.
