Army chief General Raheel Sharif has said that the people of Balochistan have rejected foreign-sponsored terrorism in their province.

According to the ISPR, as part of his farewell visits, the army chief visited Southern Command and Frontier Balochistan on Tuesday.

Paying tribute to the sacrificing officers of the corps, Gen Raheel said the insurgent tide had been completely turned against the terrorists, and their abettors, as a large number of rebels were giving up the fight against state.

Lauding the Southern Command for managing an arduous task of construction of over 1,000km-long road network in the rugged and hostile terrain, the COAS said Gwadar port and China Pakistan Economic Corridor will usher a new era of hope and prosperity for the area with its dividends reaching a common man.
