“The differences between civilian and military leadership are an open secret,” he said adding that if the present government managed to complete its five-year term, it would strengthen democracy in the country.
Hashmi further said the military leadership was annoyed at the non-implementation of the NAP on part of civilian leadership.
“Only lawyers can change the destiny of the country. These politicians and political parties have no worth,” he maintained.
He said Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) government paid no attention to the problems of the people of south Punjab. He opined that creation of more provinces would make Pakistan stronger and demanded a separate province in south Punjab.
“The support of the people is needed to create a new province in south Punjab,” he said.
He said south Punjab and its people had always faced exploitation. “We are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with lawyers and even if we have to come out on roads for their rights, we will not hesitate,” the senior politician said.
Javed Hashmi said it was a pity that not a single lawyer from south Punjab was nominated for the judge of higher courts. “We should end internal differences and work in collaboration for the development of the country,” he said.
