Consumer rights: Court issues notice to mobile phone seller

on a plea seeking Rs300,000 damages for the sale of a defective mobile set

LAHORE: A consumer court on Saturday issued a notice to a mobile phone seller on a plea seeking Rs300,000 damages for the sale of a defective mobile set.

Petitioner Salamat Ali submitted that he had bought a mobile phone for Rs13,000 from Naeem Ahmed of Ahmed Mobiles. He said that Ahmed had assured him that he would be responsible for any fault in the set. He said that he found some faults in the set and took it to Ahmed, but he refused to replace it. He prayed to the court to direct the respondent to pay him the damages.
