Medical Superintendent Zaffar Alvi said on Thursday that a five-member committee comprising Dr Tariq Abbas, AMS Saeed Amir, Technical Director Farhan Khan, Drug Controller Nadia and Audit Officer Rana Ahmed Javed, was looking into the matter.
He said two pharmacists, in connivance with two dispensers at the pharmacy, had deposited nine vouchers out of 10, of patients who had visited the centre for treatment. They had prepared a fake voucher that was not submitted into the health facility’s account. They had not deposited 60 vouchers and had caused Rs9 million loss. “We got an FIR registered against them but they were given bail.” He said they had discovered the scam during an audit of the pharmacy.
