In one of Manchester City’s publicity programs, newly appointed manager Pep Guardiola surprised a young fan by meeting with him, however, what intrigued users on social media was the question posed by the club’s supporter.

In a video posted on the club’s official Facebook page, the former Bayern Munich manager was queried by Braydon, a Manchester City supporter, if the 45-year-old Spaniard would approach the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to play for the 2013-2014 Premier League champions.

“I know Messi is your friend,” said Braydon. “You might give him a call and see if he wants to join us and have a fun time.”

To this, the former Barcelona coach replied, “Messi? [That] Would be nice.”

Guardiola managed the Spanish giants for four seasons from 2008 to 2012, before joining Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in 2013. He won 14 trophies at Camp Nou, making him Barcelona’s most successful manager.
