Six-month record: Nisar lauds ANF over drug bust

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan lauded the efforts of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for seizing narcotics worth Rs3.985 billion in a span of six months. Nisar said that the effort of the ANF has received acknowledgement and appreciation at the regional and international level. The ANF being termed as the leading drug agency was a matter of satisfaction for the minister. The minister was presented with a mid-year performance report by the ANF director general Major General, Nasir Dilawar Shah. The ANF operations up to June 2016 have led the agency to seize 49.12 Tons of Narcotics.  The minister also said that a special anti-drug drive was also launched in April 2016 focusing on educational institutions in Islamabad and all provincial capitals also helped the agency to seize drugs. He informed that 136 operations were conducted across Pakistan.
