Is Johnny Depp CII's new ambassador? Twitter seems to think so

If you think you can get away with beating your wife because you're Johnny Depp, think again

If you think you can get away with beating your wife because you're Johnny Depp, think again.

Megastar Johnny Depp has been accused of physically assaulting his wife Amber Heard, who submitted a photo of her bruised face to a court in the United States, while filing for divorce from the actor.

The news came just days after Pakistan's Council of Islamic Ideology proposed a bill permitting 'light beating' of wives.

Twitter didn't let the coincidence slip by unnoticed, making for some dark comedy.

It is refreshing, nevertheless, to see Pakistanis condemn not only CII's proposals but also the Hollywood actor's alleged abuse.
