Surety bonds submitted : Suspected rapist released on bail

The suspect was presented before a magistrate court, where he was released on bail against surety bonds of Rs30,000

A 16-year-old boy, arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping a child, was released on bail, on Sunday.


Police had arrested Sherzada, the suspect, for sexually assaulting a six-year-old boy in Bekar Fateh Bakhsh village on the outskirts of Islamabad, in the jurisdiction of Golra Police Station.

Police said the suspect lured the child, who was playing in the street, by offering to buy him a kite but took him to an unidentified location, where he allegedly raped him.

The suspect was presented before a magistrate court, where he was released on bail against surety bonds of Rs30,000.

Police said medical report had confirmed sexual assault.

A police official said that the suspect hailed from Peshawar and was temporarily residing in the area.

He said the police were investigating the matter and would soon submit challan in the court.
