Altaf Hussain’s arch-rival Afaq Ahmed sent out a reconciliation message to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) by urging it to work together for the interests of Mohajirs.
At a press conference at his residence in the DHA, Ahmed, who had formed his own faction of the MQM in the 1990s, invited the Rabita Committee to come to his house to hold dialogue for resolving Mohajir issues.

“I don’t want any conflict or confrontation. If there are any complaints, don’t take it to courts and police station, and let matters at home be solved at home. I invite Rabita committee to come here, or if they have ego issue, we are ready to go to Nine-zero.”
He said that despite ideological and policy differences, he is taking a difficult decision and ready to hold talks with MQM’s Rabita Committee.
Despite his invitation, Ahmed remained slightly critical of Altaf, and said that he had never denied that Altaf never worked for RAW.
The MQM-H also said that when Altaf went to India and said that creation of Pakistan was a mistake, the authorities should have taken action.
Regarding the future of Mustafa Kamal and his newly-formed party, Ahmed said that this was not his mandate to speak over the issue.
