MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan — who will soon be seen in Sajid Nadiadwala’s much awaited Housefull 3 — has revealed that he was very anxious about becoming a part of the successful comedy franchise.

“I was very nervous. I had first worked with Sajid-Farhad (directors of Housefull 3) in Bol Bachchan but then they came and said they wanted me to do this film too. Then Nadiadwala spoke to me about it,” said Abhishek, at the trailer launch of Housefull 3. “When you are working on a franchise which is so immensely successful, you don’t want to let down its fans. So I was very nervous and we all worked very hard.”

The Happy New Year actor went on to praise his co-star Boman Irani and how he helped prepare Abhishek for the new role. “Boman was my acting coach. Every night, he used to come and sit with me in my room and just rehearse,” he shared. “Nadiadwala does a great job of packaging a film too — it looks great. For me personally, it was hard work since I was the new one, but I had a lot of fun doing this,” added Abhishek.

Housefull 3 — which boasts of a multiple-star cast, including actors Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon — is releasing on June 3. Riteish and Abhishek have previously worked together in Bluff Master, of which the former said, “I was waiting to work with Abhishek for a very long time. When Nadiadwala called me for this film, I was really happy that I will get to work with him again.”

Also present at the launch was Akshay, who has become known for doing films back to back. “It is no rocket science. I shot for 38 days and finished the shooting for Housefull 3,” responded Akshay, when asked how he manages his hectic schedule. “Everybody comes on time, we work hard. It was very fast. I read somewhere that Mission Impossible was shot in 52 days. These days, we all finish shooting in 60 days and maximum it goes on for is 70.”
