A helping hand: UN coordinator visits Kurram

On the first day, the team visited a new IDP camp in the agency and met families who had been displaced

ISLAMABAD: The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Pakistan Neil Buhne concluded his two-day visit to Kurram Agency on Saturday, stated a press release issued on the same day. He was accompanied by the acting head of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Pakistan, Dr Alexandra de Sousa. On the first day, the team visited a new IDP camp in the agency and met families who had been displaced from their homes for over six years and will be repatriated within a week. They also observed facilities being provided by the humanitarian community in the camp and lauded the efforts of the government in supporting the displaced people.
