SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will hold a rally to mark the 37th death anniversary of its founder, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bux on Monday (today). Strict security measures have also been adopted to avert any untoward incident.

PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari landed at Moen Jo Daro airport on Sunday and was driven to Naudero House. Bilawal will address the rally in the absence of party's co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, who has been out of the country for over six months.

In the morning, a Quran Khawani will be held at the Bhutto family mausoleum, after which food will be distributed among the participants.

Later, leaders and workers of PPP-Shaheed Bhutto, the breakaway faction led by Zulfikar's daughter-in-law Ghinwa Bhutto, will visit the mausoleum and hold a rally that will end at 2pm. After this, the PPP will hold its rally, for which over 7,000 police officers, 300 Rangers, commandos and lady police constables will be deployed at the venue. Walkthrough gates have also been installed at the entrance.

Talking to journalists, home minister Suhail Anwar Siyal also put to rest earlier reports which suggested the rally was being shifted to Naudero House from the mausoleum due to security threats.

Shaikh Mohommad | 8 years ago | Reply It is sad that the murderers of Bhuttos are not brought before the courts. The latest example is of Musharraf who allowed and connived in the daylight murder of Benazir Bhutto. Are some people above law?
