QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution on Tuesday, calling upon Islamabad to raise at international forums the issue of Indian involvement in fuelling lawlessness in the province.

Members of the provincial legislature discussed the arrest of the Indian spy in Balochistan. The session held with Speaker Raheela Durrani met to discuss the adjournment motion presented by Opposition Leader Maulana Wassey in the previous session.

“The way our security forces arrested the Indian agent is appreciable,” said Minister S&GAD Muhammad Khan Shahwani, lauding the sacrifices rendered by security personnel for the protection of the country.

Shahwani said the masses should also simultaneously keep an eye on the nefarious work of anti-state elements.

Deputy Opposition Leader Engineer Zamrak Achakzai, expressing his views on the floor, said that Balochistan shares borders with Afghanistan and Iran and in such a vast territory, the arrest of an Indian spy is an appreciable feat.

MPAs Syed Liaquat Agha, Shahida Rauf and Asif Kurd Gailo also expressed their views on the adjournment motion, saying that attempts of foreign spies to disrupt peace in the country should alarm everyone. Pakistan wants good relations with everyone but elements aiming to sabotage national integrity should not be spared. Towards that end, the resolution was unanimously approved by the assembly.
