KARACHI: The Rangers informed on Monday the anti-terrorism courts’ administrative judge about the 90-day preventive detention of two suspected target killers for questioning. The paramilitary force presented Zahid alias Johnny and Junaid alias Raja who are reportedly affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement before the administrative judge. The law officer told the judge that the suspects were arrested in a raid conducted on a tip-off and the Rangers possessed credible information against them for their involvement in targeted killings, extortion, kidnapping and other terrorism activities. The suspects were also involved in the May 12, 2007 riots and the recent bomb attacks on Rangers checkposts in the city, the officer added. The judge, concluding the hearing, directed the authorities to form a joint interrogation team to question the suspects during their detention.
