Key Role: ‘Media can help improve governance’

The delegation is on a three-day visit to Lahore on the provinical government’s invitation

LAHORE: “The role of media is of significant importance in developing public opinion. Governance can be improved by seeking guidance from media,” Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal said on Monday. He was speaking to a 16-member delegation of journalists from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) that called on him at the Civil Secretariat. The delegation is on a three-day visit to Lahore on the provinical government’s invitation. Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmad Khwaja informed the delegates about measures being taken by the provincial government to improve health, education, infrastructure and information technology sectors. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali, who headed the delegation, praised the pace of progress in the province. Information and Culture Secretary Momin Agha and Public Relations Director General Raja Jahangir Anwer were also present on the occasion.
