Violent attack: Man arrested for injuring ex-wife

Police arrested a man on Sunday for allegedly attacking and injuring his former wife.


According to details, Sadia Bibi* had registered a complaint at the Shalimar police station against Muhammad Kashif, a resident of Begumpura.

“She accused Kashif of attacking, abusing and beating her up. Kashif had earlier divorced her. Sadia Bibi went to his home to collect her belongings. However, the accused started beating her up and broke her nose,” the police said.

Sadia Bibi had also received multiple injuries on other body parts, police said. She said that her husband had thrashed her brutally. Police said that Sadia Bibi had scars and bruises on various parts of the body.

They said that they had arrested Kashif during a raid on his house on Sunday.

Investigation is underway and we will ensure that justice is served at any cost, a police spokesperson said.
