A district and sessions court on Friday sent two former directors-general of the Employees Old-Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) to jail in a corruption case.
Senior Civil Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakar sent the suspects to jail after the FIA produced the suspects before the court after the expiry of their previous remand.
Wahid Khursheed Kunwar, former DG investment, and Najmus Saqib Siddiqui, former DG finance of the EOBI, were arrested on February 26 from the premises of the IHC.
The FIA informed the court that the suspects were allegedly involved in illegally increasing the cost of the Overseas Corporation Tower from Rs600 million to Rs1,539 million, thus causing a loss to the national exchequer.
