PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Zafar Iqbal Jhagra was sworn in on Friday as the governor of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) at the Governor House in Peshawar.

Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel administered the oath ceremony, while Chief Minister K-P Pervez Khattak was also present at the occasion.

PM advises president to appoint Iqbal Zafar Jhagra as K-P governor

Around 5,000 guests, including workers of PML-N, its students' wing, and a large number of high-ranking politicians and military officers attended the oath taking ceremony.

On February 24, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had advised President Mamnoon Hussain to appoint Jhagra as governor K-P.

Jhagra to step into Mehtab’s shoes in K-P

Jhagra, who is secretary general of the ruling party, was set to join the K-P governor office after Sardar Mehtab Ahmad resigned from the post in the first week of February.
