Do more: Opp submits resolution on petroleum prices

The resolution criticises the government for lowering petroleum prices by just Rs5

LAHORE: A resolution demanding a larger reduction in petroleum prices was submitted on Monday in the Punjab Assembly Secretariat by Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed. The resolution demands that the federal government ensure that petroleum prices are brought down to Rs40 to Rs45 per litre.  The resolution criticises the government for lowering petroleum prices by just Rs5. It also demands that the prices of other necessary items be lowered. “The global reduction in petroleum prices should benefit the consumers,” it said. The resolution states that the government is getting Rs40 per litre under various taxes from current petroleum prices.
