LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Thursday directed the Cantt superintendent of police (SP) to register a case against District Officer (Revenue) Ammara Khan and a naib tehsildar for allegedly damaging standing crops of a farmer and illegally occupying his property.

The complainant, Muhammad Iqbal, in his petition stated that he had cultivated wheat on 32 kanals. He alleged that Khan, the naib tehsildar and other Revenue Department officials damaged the crop and took possession of his land without serving a notice in advance.

He said he contacted the station house officer (SHO) concerned several times and asked him to register an FIR against the accused. He requested the court to direct the SHO to register a case against the accused. Judge Mehar Muhammad Yousaf directed the Cantt SP to record the farmer’s statement and take appropriate action against the accused.
