Senate panel told: Capital has 101 illegal housing societies

The committee directed the CDA official to present a brief report on the issue of illegal schemes

ISLAMABAD:


The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday informed a Senate panel that 101 illegal housing societies were operating in Islamabad.


Member Planning and Design Waseem Ahmad Khan informed the Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice that action against four illegal schemes, which have violated their approved layout plan, was in progress.

The housing schemes included Pakistan Medical Cooperative Housing Society in Sector E-11, Khayaban-e-Kashmir Housing Society in Sector G-15, Multi Garden Housing Society in A-17 and Sawan Garden Housing Scheme in Zone-V.

The committee directed the CDA official to present a brief report on the issue of illegal schemes and the action so far taken against violators in the committee’s next meeting.
