For life: Murder convict’s sentence converted

Hussain had later appealed the verdict at LHC

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday converted the death penalty awarded to a convict in connection with a murder case into a life sentence. An additional district and sessions judge had awarded the death penalty to Iftikhar Hussain in 2006 and directed him to pay Rs100,000 to the family of the slain man. Hussain had later appealed the verdict at LHC.
