FAISALABAD:

The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has declared Model City Phase-II in Chak 238-RB, Satiana Road, illegal and has told people not to buy plots in the colony.

A spokesperson of the FDA said on Sunday that Under Local Government Ordinance 2001 and the Development of Citizens Act 1976, all housing scheme developers were supposed to seek permission from the FDA before developing a residential scheme. The Model City-II was developed without fulfilling code requirements, he said.

He said the FDA had taken notice of the irregularities and had written to the district collector asking him not to register the sale of plots in the scheme.

The FDA has also written to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), the planning and development manager, the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) and the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) general manager to stop the supply of water and electricity and stop sewerage facilities and gas connections to this house scheme.

The FDA has also directed the developers of Model City-II, Satiana Road, to complete all code requirements before selling plots in the house scheme. Otherwise, strict action would be taken against them, the spokesperson added.
