Red carpet radar: The leading ladies save the day

LAHORE: The Ho Mann Jahaan pre-release screening held in Lahore this Thursday was to build hype around the film. But with a lacklustre red carpet, it simmered down the razzmatazz surrounding the film. But that was up until the star cast of the film, especially the leading ladies, made their way to the event. Where the male leads Adeel Hussain and Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui looked debonair in their tuxedos, the radiant Mahira Khan and Sonya Jehan were sights for sore eyes that night.

Jehan hit the ball out of the park in this gorgeous hot pink number by Mina Hasan. She let her dress shine through and opted for a long dress that was cinched at the waist, accentuating her figure in a dress that’s otherwise not form-fitting. Channeling old Hollywood glamour, she kept it simple in terms of accessories and wore small earrings, rings and a delicate necklace. She tied her hair in a low bun and wore a sparkly black clutch that uplifted her overall look. She played with smoky eyes and a light pink lip and let her skin shine as the paparazzi endlessly clicked away.

The natural beauty wore a Sania Maskatiya plain black full-length dress with spaghetti straps, accessorising it with a baby pink fur jacket and hot pink heels. The Damas necklace added drama and dazzle to the ensemble, which her stylist Amar Faiz put together for her. But this was one of Mahira’s less impactful looks as different elements of the outfit did not add up. While the fur jacket is chic on its own, the LBD doesn’t do it justice. In the hair and make-up department, Mahira nailed old Hollywood curls but her minimal make-up fails to hit the mark. We wish she had opted for a darker lip to pull the entire look together.
