ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation Limited (Passco) has undertaken the construction of 20 warehouses with its own indigenous resources. According to official sources, 10 warehouses each are being constructed at Khanewal and Pindi Bhattian zones. Passco has the capacity to store 431,000 tons of stock in its 311 warehouses; 273 in Punjab with a capacity of 300,100 tons, three in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with capacity of 3,300 tons, five in Sindh with capacity of 3,300 tons and two Balochistan with 2,200 tons, besides 28 concrete Silos (Punjab and Sindh) with capacity of 97,000 tons of edible food. Passco has federal strategic reserves of 1.737 million tons of wheat.
