SUKKUR: The residents of Khuda Bux Gadani Goth allowed the polio team to administer drops to the children, after their demand for posting of two primary teachers in the village's school was fulfilled on Wednesday.

On Monday, the villagers did not allow the polio team to administer drops to the children as a protest for the unavailability of teachers in the primary school of the village located near Mirpur Mathelo. The parents demanded the authorities to first post teachers in the primary school, which had become non-functional due to the unavailability of teachers for the past two years. In this regard, the education authorities and district administration sent a team of education and district officers to the village. During the visit of the school, the officers found out that the primary school was non-functional because there were no teachers.

A Mirpur Mathelo-based reporter said that the Ghotki education district officer issued orders on Monday to post two primary teachers at the school. He added that education department officer Noor Ahmed Soomro visited the village on Monday and informed the villagers that two teachers have been posted in the school, while third one will be posted soon. A resident Abdullah Gadani confirmed the visit of the education officer and said that the villagers have been promised that teachers will be posted soon. The resident said that a polio team visited the village on Tuesday and administered drops to 136 children.
