MUZAFFARABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq reiterating his stance and urged the government on Sunday to raise the issue of JI leaders being hanged in Bangladesh with Dhaka.

Addressing a public rally in the Khuiratta area of District Kotli, some 210 kilometres away from the capital city of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

“I approached government of Pakistan officials and requested them to talk to China, Saudi Arabia and Turkey to pressurise Dhaka to stop the hanging of JI members and leaders from other political parties. I was shocked over the cold response of government officials on the issue,”  the JI chief said .

Haq further said that a uniform education system is the need of the hour to put Pakistan on the road
to development and prosperity. “Pakistani rulers have looted the country and built castles in the UK and US,” he said.

He also slammed the government for imposing Rs40 billion worth of new taxes on the public. The JI chief said if the federal government was sincere about controlling price hikes, they should first curtail the non-development budget and set aside their luxurious their lifestyles.

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami AJK Abdur Rashid Turabi also addressed the public rally, adding that even the US has only 16 ministers, while AJK alone has 25.
