Three militants killed in Quetta

QUETTA: At least three militants of a banned outfit were killed in an encounter in the suburbs of Quetta late on Saturday.

On the information of the presence of wanted terrorists, the Frontier Corps (FC) and intelligence agency conducted a raid in the Sariab area of Quetta, said FC spokesperson.

Three militants belonging to the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi were killed in the exchange of fire with the security forces. They were involved in the target killing, bombing and other terrorist activities, the spokesperson added.

The bodies were taken into custody and had been shifted to hospital for autopsies.

Five militants killed in Awaran

Earlier this week, five militants were killed in a search operation in the Mashkai tehsil of the restive Awaran district in Balochistan.

According to sources within the security forces, a search operation was carried out in the Nok Jo locality of Mashkai.

“Five militants of a banned organisation were killed in an exchange of gunfire,” The sources said that they had also confiscated weapons from the possession of the militants, who were involved in terrorist activities in the area.
