Professional training: AIOU to launch short-courses for journalists

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will soon launch short-courses for journalists, said a press release issued here on Thursday. The courses will facilitate journalists of both print and electronic media, to further strengthen their professional skills. Eminent media personnel will be invited, as visiting faculty members, to run these courses. This was stated by AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui, on Thursday, while speaking at a seminar ‘Mulaqat’ at university main campuses. Journalist Javed Siddique was key-note speaker at the event. He shared his personal experiences and eye-witness accounts about various events that he covered since 1976. The VC hoped that the courses will meet professional needs of working journalists.
