N Waziristan operation: Army officer, 5 militants slain
BANNU: An officer of Pakistan Army was shot dead by unidentified militants in Dattakhel area of North Waziristan Agency on Friday, while five militants were killed in retaliation for the attack. An official of the security forces said that Major Zahid Shaheed was performing his duties in Dattakhel in Operation Zarb-e-Azb. Some unidentified militants targeted Major Zahid Shaheed with a sniper rifle during a cordon and search operation. The official said that security forces retaliated to the attack and killed around five militants in the area.
