Aaj television office in Karachi comes under bomb attack

An un-exploded bomb was found outside the offices of Nawa-i-Waqt group, located in the same area.

KARACHI: The offices of Aaj TV and Nawa-i-Waqt came under bomb attacks in Gurumandir area of Karachi, Express News reported Monday evening.

The guards’ checkpost outside the building was the target of the attack.

Ball bearings, part of the crackers, were found on the site of the attack.

One security guard suffered minor injuries because of the explosion, and the entrance to the building was reportedly damaged.

The situation in the area was described as tense immediately after the attacks.

Squads of law enforcement agencies and the Bomb Disposal Squad were called to the site.

An un-exploded bomb was recovered from near Nawa-i-Waqt News offices, which is also located in the same area.

According to Superintendent Police Jamshed Town both attacks were perpetrated by the same group.

Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah ordered a report of the incident from Additional Inspector General Karachi.

Information Minister Sharjeel Memon stated that incidents like these cannot intimidate the media.
