Ecolean entered the Pakistan market, focusing on innovation and addressing environmental concerns.

KARACHI: Ecolean, a Swedish company that provides innovative packaging solutions, sees tremendous potential in Pakistan over the long term and expects the country to emerge as the hub for Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian markets.

Sharing his company’s plan for Pakistan and the region in a briefing to the media, Ecolean AB CEO Peter Nilsson said the partnership with Engro Foods had made the company’s product widely available in one of the most dynamic markets in the world.

It proved the importance of Pakistan as a hub for the company’s future growth in the region and beyond, he said. “The initial response from the consumers proves that our lightweight package, with its user friendly shape, has true global appeal for consumers as well as producers.”

Ecolean entered the Pakistan market in 2013 in collaboration with Engro Foods with focus on innovation, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing environmental concerns.

Founded in 1996, Ecolean is an international company with commercial operations in more than 30 countries and regional offices in China, Russia and Pakistan.

Sharing his thoughts, Engro Foods CEO Sarfaraz A Rehman said, “It is in our communal interest with Ecolean to save natural resources and reduce our environmental footprint. It is this commitment that has made us invest in this lightweight formula for the 250ml SKU of our brand Olper’s.”
