National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) Chairman Tariq Malik in a letter to the Federal Interior Secretary rejected allegations levelled against him by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar.
Malik said the issue of his sacking was being heard in the Islamabad High Court, but the interior minister chose to level “baseless allegations” at a press conference.
He wrote that all the press briefings and statements issued as Nadra chairman were cleared by spokesman of interior ministry and senior joint secretary which can be verified by attached documents.
Regarding Nisar’s remarks about his education, Tariq Malik said his qualifications meet the requirements laid down in the Nadra Ordinance. He refuted interior minister’s claims that the technical certificates and executive management programme can be acquired on payment of admission fee.
Certificates of Management Programme of Stanford University, and Management and Profession Development Programme of Harvard University cannot be acquired on mere payment of admission fee, Malik said.
Foreign trips
Malik said all of his foreign trips as chairman of Nadra were misreported by adding both exit and entry.
He said all his foreign trips as Nadra chairman were cleared by competent authority and helped in generating business for the authority that translated into over $17.6 million profit.
Excess pay
He said increments and bonuses in past five years were commensurate with any head of a commercial organisation. Malik said in one instance, excess amount was credited to his account in May 2013 that was recovered in June 2013.

PMLN wants to destroy all institutions. Nawaz is more loyal to Saudis and Eastern Punjab than Pakistan.
Many good Pakistanis of good credentials will refuse to even come back to lovely motherland after the NADRA chairman debacle by government.

@hassan How can anyone blame PML N for rigging by knowing the facts they had no influence in election commission or in a caretaker government... What if any one deliberately cast fake vote to his opponent without opponents knowledge and consent so latter on he can make it an issue to derail the democratic process...this is actually what is happening... The people who want to look at past not to make future better but to implicate and do a politics of hindrance and blame game is the true enemy of this state... Because looser never accepts his defeat if he is immature and has poor caliber… if any one admits to recount in any constituency will act against our motherland because we do not want to this happen 24/7,365, wastage of our resources in non value added activities….. lets device some mechanism for future free and fair elections in parliament only not on streets and roads…
Did NADRA not provide faulty data to FBR which resulted in 20,000 notices out of 30,000 being returned?. I seriously wonder why he wants to hold on to the job so badly .Private gain vs public good I guess

NADRA is the only profit generating government organization. PMLn pointed out NADRA for being transparent but has overlooked other giants giving losses like PIA , PAK STEELS etc
@Usman, he didn't pay from tax payers money, he attained these qualification before he was hired by Nadra. He is only being single out because he refused to hide PML(N) rigging in the may elections
i donot know him or his contributions in NADRA. Did he used tax payers money to pay for fees of Harvard and Stanford:? i believe it cost USD 50,000 for 2 weeks courses on termination of which everyone gets a certificate. why did not he got training in LUMS, IBA, NUST etc since its not specialised topic.
