The Peshawar High Court has unearthed that Peshawar Metro bus project’s contract was given to a blacklisted company which shows that it is a mega-corruption project, said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif.

Speaking at the Workers Convention in Mingora on Thursday, he said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan claimed to plant one billion trees but not a single tree was planted in Swat.

“Imran said he will eliminate corruption but he did nothing for the people of K-P. He took Rs300 billion loan but where did the money go,” he asked.

He said that 11,000 MW electricity was added to the power system during PML-N’s tenure, while the PTI added merely 80MW electricity to the national grid. The PML-N president said that if his party would be given the opportunity to serve the people so they would develop Malakand division, Mingora and Swat just like they developed Lahore. “Swat and Malakand have rendered tremendous sacrifices. If you vote for me, I will develop your cities like Lahore. I will also provide all facilities to the people of Mingora and Swat.”

Shehbaz said the PTI ruined K-P in five years. “I will construct small dams in the region.”

CDWP meeting held, approval of projects blocked

“I am a Pakhtun first, then a Punjabi. Pakistan is the name of Punjab, K-P, Sindh, Fata, Balochistan. We support the Pakhtuns from our hearts”.

Talking about Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz’s imprisonment he said: “Your leader Nawaz Sharif bid farewell to his ailing wife and came back to Pakistan with his daughter to be arrested. Nawaz came here for you, not for himself,” he said.
