Pir rapes mother of two to drive out evil djinns

Published: April 10, 2011

Shah drugged the family, saying he was performing an exorcism.

BHAKKAR:

A pir was accused of raping a woman after drugging her and her daughters on Saturday.

In Notak Nasheb Sainghar, pir Javed Shah forced broke into Shehzadi Bibi’s house late at on Friday night and told her that her house was haunted by ‘evil’ djinns who were causing her daughters to fall sick.

He said that he had several djinns ‘under his control’ that could turn out the others if she agreed to do what he said. Shah gave Shehzadi and her daughters glasses of water that had been drugged and the family fell unconscious. Shehzadi, her nine-year-old daughter Shazia and seven-year-old daughter Shumaila fainted and when they woke up the next day Shah was gone.

Javed Shah repeatedly raped Shehzadi the entire night. When the family woke up the next day and went to the hospital doctors refused to treat her for fear of the djinns.

“The children came screaming to us for help and told us what happened. We took them to the hospital but people were fearful of attending to her when they heard about what had happened with the djinns,” said a neighbour, Rahat.

Shehzadi eventually received treatment at a clinic and has registered a case against Javed Shah with the police.

Police officials are searching for the accused who fled the district.

As a doctor I find it troubling that there was apprehension from the hospital to treat this
poor lady. Be that as it may, the incident itself reflects the sheer exploitation of illiteracy and poverty which allows these Pirs to roam without recourse to justice. These people market themselves by instilling fear to maintain control and popularity. Recommend

No he should not be hanged. This shows the mentality (ignorance) of the woman who went to this baba. I believe, since this baba had been able to successfully manipulate a human’s mind, which is possibly the most difficult thing to do. he (baba), therefore shall be put to use, and his talents may be utilized.

However, this can not be done unless he apologizes, and may be then gets ready for his rape.Recommend

Pir Javed Shah deserves severe punishment, but one must also read the following lines from the news article:

“The children came screaming to us for help and told us what happened. We took them to the hospital but people were fearful of attending to her when they heard about what had happened with the djinns,” said a neighbour, Rahat.

Shouldn’t we have to do something further in order to avoid such incidents in the future? Illiteracy and ignorance are leading the nation to I don’t know where?

Now the possible excuse by the Pir could be “I was actually possessed by the same Evil Djinns, that’s why the unfortunate incident took place. So it’s not me but them who raped her…punish the Djinns”Recommend

Such incidents prevail in india and Pakistan. I have heard about countless such incidents happening across india through indian friends and have witnessed myself back home in Pakistan. This is primarily lack of EDUCATION, belief and poor practise of religion be it Islam or Hinudism because both would preach self guard. When you present yourself to a pervert dependant on him assuming he would cure the jin, would certainly bring out the devil in him. I believe its an editorial or misperceived article by the writer, as he puts it that “Javed Shah repeatedly raped Shehzadi the entire night”, how can you repeatedly rape an unconscious woman!
So its primarily the (pervert) Pir’s lust for sex that tempted him to break into the house and intimidating them with jinns and all the magic.Recommend

Secondly what has West to do with a crime committed in Pakistan where Islamic laws can be applied on Muslims???? Rape is a rape no matter where it is committed. What matters is the law of that country. The Pir whose name is Javed Shah obviously can not be either a Christian or Hindu or any other person who are considered as minorities. It is so common in Pakistan that people accuse the victim instead of the actual culprit and the illustrate ancient tribal traditions. I have heard these kinds of remarks about rape victims “why was she out, what was she doing out working, our women don’t go out and get raped”.

No person has some extreme powers to ward off evil things like, illness, jinns, problems etc. If that was true, there were peace in the world. There were no hospitals.
