A film by Pakistani director Shehzad Hameed won the Gold Medal in the 'Best Documentary: Community Portraits' category at the New York Festivals held last week.

Flight of the Falcons is a story about a brave teacher, Riffat Arif (also known as Sister Zeph) who runs a school in Gujranwala. The film highlights the battle against child marriage, physical punishment and societal pressures on women who want to educate themselves.

The documentary has led Sister Zeph and her cause to recieve global recognition and she has been contacted by the Malala Fund for assistance.
