Land grabbing: NAB arrests three KDA officials

These KDA officers were allegedly involved in the illegal construction, sale and purchase of plots

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) claimed to have arrested three officials of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) and another man. The suspects included two directors and one additional director of the authority and were identified as former KDA director Abdul Qavi Khan, Master Plan director Rashid Aqeel and an additional director Muhammad Nasir Sheikh. In addition to this, a private person, Anjum Jameel Siddiqui, was arrested. “These KDA officers were allegedly involved in the illegal construction, sale and purchase of plots in a housing scheme, named ‘University Hill Villas’, located at Block-1, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Scheme-36,” said the NAB Karachi spokesperson. Initially, a Joint Investigation Team comprising officers of NAB, Pakistan Rangers, Sindh and the Federal Investigation Agency was constituted. During the inquiry, Mujeebullah Siddiqui and Faisal Masroor Siddiqui, were arrested.
