Unfortunate incident: Four of a family killed in gas explosion

KARAK: At least four people were killed when an explosion resulting from a gas leak took place inside a house in Karak on Friday. The deceased included three children and a woman. SHO Gurguri police station, Mohibullah Khan, told The Express Tribune the explosion occurred due to a gas leak in Faqir Gul’s house in Kundi village, Banda Daud Shah tehsil. He said, “The incident occurred at midnight when Gul’s wife woke up to light the stove. As she lit the match, a huge explosion occurred.” Mohibullah added, “The roof of the room collapsed on them. All four of them were buried alive under the rubble.” He said people from the neighbourhood started rescue work immediately after the incident but failed to save the lives of Gul’s wife and children.
