Business dispute? Man shot dead in broad daylight

IO quoted Fatima as reporting that Ziaullah Khan, Ahmed Khan, Tufail Khan, and four unidentified men targeted her son

RAWALPINDI: A travel agent was shot dead on Thursday morning soon after he left his home in Gulshanabad on Adiala Road. Police said that Zaheer Akseer, 45, was shot in the head and died on the spot. Akseer, a native of Hawalian in Abbotabad, had been living in Rawalpindi for 10 years. Investigation officer (IO) Sub Inspector Muhammad Arif said the deceased’s mother Fatima Bibi, had lodged an FIR with the Saddar police. The IO said that according to the complainant, three of her children left the house to go visit their brother. The IO quoted Fatima as reporting that Ziaullah Khan, Ahmed Khan, Tufail Khan, and four unidentified men targeted her son. The named suspects were all Akseer’s business partners and had allegedly threatened him in the past over some business disputes. Fatima also said that one of the killers was wearing a police uniform while the others were in street clothes. No arrests have been made.
